On ° Venus
On ° Venus is a 40 minute long piece that was choreographed in collaboration with Anna Mlasowsky, a Seattle based glass maker. We met for approximately two months to construct this piece during her time as the Amazon Artist in Residence. The piece is performed with 20 pieces of glass that are manipulated throughout space using movement and elements of costume design (by Jeni Falldine). The piece was performed for a live audience on July 28, 2022 at The Amazon Spheres in Seattle, WA.
Description:
On ° Venus is a performance, which explores women’s changing roles during different stages of our lives. The narrative is told in three acts, for which garments and glass objects are activated by the performer, exploring society's expectations towards the female body in contrast to our own identities.
